To get started decorating your boomerang you will need:

Paint in red, blue, yellow & white

Paint brushes

Permanent Marker

Bottle caps to hold paint

Matches for dot painting

Cups to wash brushes

Newspaper

Spare rags for cleaning up

Clear varnish to finish if desired

In a classroom environment, it is best to practive dot painting techniques on scrap paper first before applying them to the boomerang. If there is time, students can plan their design on paper and then paint the boomerang.

For group activities, make sure that the warning sign is displayed cleared in the painting area. Decorating and group activity boomerangs are not designed to be thrown and can cause injury or damage if used incorrectly.
