The 295mm plywood returning boomerang is made from Australian plantation grown timber. The boomerang comes sanded and sealed, immediately ready for paint application. Flights have been cut in the front and back of the boomerang to assist with the aerodynamics. Different boomerangs are available for left and right handed students.

This boomerang will return if thrown correctly, but all safety precautions should be followed. The throwing boomerang should only be used under the supervision of a responsible adult.

The throwing boomerang can be decorated as the student wishes or in conjunction with the internet or library resources to promote the study of a culture going back 40,000 years. Before attempting the boomerang itself, there is the opportunity for students to research and discuss the meaning of designs and their application. All motifs and painting techniques should be practiced before attempting the final product.

Once students have decorated the boomerangs they can be thrown outside. Click here for throwing instructions.
