1. Lightly sand the boomerang to remove any imperfections 2. A base coat must be brushed on front and back 3. Colour highlights may be made on the base coat, stipple and other folk art techniques
4. The required designs will be transferred to the boomerang, using as much or as little detail as required 5. The background colours can now be filled in and the outlines completed in either dots or lines. Dots can be formed using the end of a paintbrush 6. Colour build-ups and finishing designs are added to complete the boomerang
   
7. When you are satisfied with the finished product, a coat of water varnish may be applied to fix colours and add low lustre
