1. Pencil in the areas where colour will be applied
2. Paint in background colours with a flat brush and add detailing with a round brush

3. Dot the entire boomerang using contrasting colours (mixing white and colours for pastels where necessary)

1. Trace lizard on the middle of the boomerang and position half circles on the arms (hint: trace around a drinking glass)
2. Paint backgrounds in brown and black
3. Apply the background dots with the head of a flat nail or a new unsharpened pencil
4. Add dots and detailing as required

1. Use a sponge to lay the first two colours (black and blue). Carefully use a stipple technique (click here to see how) to add red, yellow and white
2. Using one of the example sheets (click here to download your own) or a design of your own, trace a pencil outline onto the boomerang
3. Put in the basic background colours. The flat head of a large nail can be used to make large dots
4. Add details with dots and lines to finish
